Positive and negative aspects of sports
What do you think is positive about practicing sports?
Sports bring a bunch of benefits with them;
the most common ones are:
•Development of coordination. Cricket, for
example, helps you develop eye-hand coordination.
•Production of stamina.
•Strength of body muscles. Each sport will
help you to strength a specific part of the body, for example, soccer and
hockey will help you to strength your legs.
•Improvement of concentration. Soccer and
chess are some of the sports which improve your concentration.
•Lose of weight and burn of calories.
•Have a better posture.
•Practicing sports helps to relax, like
chess.
•When you practice sports, you improve
your breathing: the use of oxygen. This helps you to develop your
cardiovascular system.
•Sports also help you to improve your
memory and overthink the decisions you make.
As we can see, sports benefit the whole body.
What do you think is negative about practicing sports?
We already learnt some of the benefits which sports
bring; but they also have negative aspects:
•Hypercompetitive behavior can lead to selfish
conducts.
•You must know how to balance sports with your other
activities, such as school, otherwise you will abandon the school or your
social life.
•The huge desire to win can lead to cheating during
the game.
•People who aren’t good at sports might get frustrated
and decrease their self-esteem.
Despite the negative aspects of sports, we must find a balance and include them in our daily life, they have more benefits than disadvantages.
